Isabelle Kirabo and Morgan Simmons of Hampton High recognized as DECA CTSO state winners

Congratulations to Isabelle Kirabo and Morgan Simmons, both seniors at Hampton High School. They are DECA Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) state winners.

Isabelle and Morgan participated in the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, GA from April 23 to 27, 2022. There were over 17,500 student members from around the globe. Students and the DECA advisor, Rhonda Russell, were recognized for their outstanding work in the Virtual Business Personal Finance Challenge. The students earned first place in the state for both rounds of the competitive events this year. At the regional level they placed sixth in the second round moving up from their first round placement of 33. Nationally they placed 26 out of 357 teams.

“As you see these students were dedicated to improving their skills and ability in this competitive event to be number one,” said Seth Black, director of career and technical education.

The DECA Digital Presentation is a sampling of what these students have learned and applied during this event. They entered  this video in a brand new event, DECA/Knowledge Matters Digital Presentation Skills Challenge, that was just introduced this past January.
