The exhibition of the finalists and award winners is held at the Torggler Fine Arts Center in Newport News between March 1 and 27.

The Prefaces 2022 art competition is open to full-time students in grades 10, 11, and 12 enrolled in public, private, home-school, or parochial high schools in Newport News, Hampton, Poquoson, York County, and Williamsburg-James City County. Students from Bethel and Phoebus also had artwork displayed.

“Congratulations to Kecoughtan High School student Isabella Hill who recently won the 2nd place award at the 2022 Prefaces Art Competition,” said Ai Choo Ashe, HCS teacher specialist for visual and performing arts. “We are so proud of her amazing achievement in turning her creative vision into fabulous, and now award-winning artwork.”
