Smith Elementary School students receive donations to keep warm this winter

New Bethel Cathedral COGIC is always willing to lend a helping hand to Smith Elementary School. They have again stepped up this year.

The church worked with family engagement specialist Tamiko Barnes. Barnes said that with the weather changing, winter gear would really help their families. The church went to work on collecting hats, gloves, scarves, blankets, coats, and socks.

The items will be distributed on Friday, December 18.

Barnes said the church has been a great partner for the past two years in helping the school. Last year they provided food baskets for students.
While these donations are such a blessing to students, the church seems to enjoy helping out.

Curtis Tunstall, Sr. of New Bethel said, “Thank you Captain John Smith for allowing us to be your partner and thank you for allowing us to be a blessing to the families at Smith.”
